Peter Windhofer (born October 28, 1980 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Windhofer grew up in the Austrian Alps . Since the age of eleven, he received training in dance and acting . After graduating from high school in 1999, Windhofer briefly studied dance at the University of Salzburg in 2001 and 2002 . He then went to the United States, where he studied acting and directing with a focus on film at the University of Utah from 2003 to 2004 . In 2005 he obtained a degree in communication studies .

Since 2004, Windhofer has been involved in several dance and theater projects in the United States and Austria. He then decided on a career as an actor and from 2005 initially took private acting lessons, among others with the actress Erika Mottl . From 2008 to 2010 he attended the Krauss drama school in Vienna .

As a theater actor he then had engagements at the summer festival "Shakespeare in Mödling" in the Mödling concert courtyard . In 2010 he played Julian in Romea and Julian , a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet ; In 2011, Antipholus of Ephesus followed in Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors . In the 2011/2012 season he appeared at the Klagenfurt City Theater in the title role of the children's theater production Der Puss in Boots . In the 2013/2014 season he will take on the role of the captain in the musical Der Mann von La Mancha at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich .

He received his first smaller film role in 2006 under the direction of Reinhard Schwabenitzky in the ORF television series Oben ohne , in which a civil servant played in one episode . Since 2006, leading roles have followed in several short films . In 2007 he was seen as a biology student Ralf in the short film The Sacred Tree .

From October 2010 to January 2011, he played in the Sat.1 - telenovela Anna and the love of the series lead role of Steve Welder . From summer 2014 he was seen in "The Quest" for the US broadcaster ABC as Sir Ansgar in a leading role.

Windhofer also worked as a moderator at various live events, including the 2006 World Cup .

Windhofer lives in Vienna, in the 4th district of Wieden . Peter Windhofer has one son.
