Peterson dos Santos Peçanha (born January 11, 1980 in São Gonçalo ), called Peçanha , is a Brazilian football player . The goalkeeper has been under contract with CD Feirense in the Portuguese Primeira Liga since summer 2016 .

Career

Peçanha came to Europe in the summer of 2005 at the age of 25 and hired the Portuguese first division club FC Paços de Ferreira . There he fought with Pedro Correia for the place in the gate of the northern Portuguese. After he had come into play in 23 of 34 games in the first year , he became an undisputed regular at the beginning of the 2006/07 season and qualified with his team for the UEFA Cup . There he was eliminated in the first round. This success could not be repeated in the 2007/08 season . Peçanha and his team were in danger of relegation and only avoided relegation by withdrawing a competitor's license. He left the Portuguese in the summer of 2008 and moved to newly promoted Thrasyvoulos Fylis in the Greek Super League . There he fought with Nikolaos Kostakis for a place in goal and was able to assert himself 19 times. At the end of the season he had to relegate his team as bottom of the table.

Peçanha returned to Portugal after just a year, where first division team Marítimo Funchal signed him. In the 2009/10 season he was number one in goal and finished the season with the Madeirans in the front midfield. In the following season he lost his place to his previous deputy Marcelo Boeck and was not used. It was only after Boeck's move to Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2011 that he returned to Marítimo's goal. At the end of the 2011/12 season he and his team qualified for the Europa League .

In the summer of 2012, Rapid Bucharest brought Peçanha to the Romanian League 1 . At the end of the season he reached a place in midfield with his new club, but Rapid received no license and had to relegate. In August 2013 he then moved to the reigning cup winner Petrolul Ploieşti . There he ousted the previous number one Mircea Bornescu and has since held the regular place in goal. He finished the 2013/14 season with Petrolul qualifying for the Europa League . In early 2016 he left the relegation-threatened Petrolul and joined league rivals FC Viitorul Constanța . There he lost his place in the team after six missions. In summer 2016 he went to CD Feirense in Portugal. There, too, he was first goalkeeper, but had to give up his place on matchday eight to his rival Vaná .
