Petr Hladík

Petr Hladík (born March 16, 1948 in Děčín ) is a former Czechoslovak cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

At the age of 14 he began cycling, first in the Dynamo Děčín club and from 1967 in the RH Plzeň club. In the youth classes he has already won five championships in different age groups. A first major success was winning the Peace Race for juniors 1966. 1967 he was able to Prague - Karlovy Vary - Prague win, the longest in Europe discharged amateur race of 262 kilometers connecting Jan Smolík defeated in the final. In August he started in the national team's jersey for the first time at the UCI Road World Championships and finished 75th after a fall in Heerlen , the Netherlands . In 1969, Hladík won the national championship in the road race of the ČSSR before Rudolf Labus . So he was again qualified for the world championship and was 10th in the individual race. In 1971 he drove the International Peace Tour and was 41st in the overall ranking.

In the team time trial , he could in 1973 and 1975 to win the title. In 1968 he took part in the Summer Olympics in Mexico , but had to give up the race after a technical damage to his bike.
