Petra Zakouřilová (born September 5, 1978 in Liberec ) is a former Czech ski racer . She specialized in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom , achieved two top 20 placements in the World Cup and five top 20 placements at World Championships and Olympic Games, and was six times Czech champion .

biography

Zakouřilová took part in five Junior World Championships from 1994 to 1998 . Her best result was 16th place in the Schladming giant slalom in 1997 . In December 1995 she first took part in competitions in the European Cup and the Nor-Am Cup . While she finished 13th in the giant slalom in Winter Park in the Nor-Am Cup , she remained without a result in the European Cup for the time being. She won her first points in the Eurapacup on January 28, 1997 with 23rd place in the giant slalom in Rogla . In 1996 she won her first Czech championship title in the Super-G . In 1997 she won the national slalom championship.

In February 2001 Zakouřilová took part in a world championship for the first time in St. Anton am Arlberg . She achieved 17th place in the slalom as the best Czech woman and 30th place in the giant slalom. A little later she contested her first World Cup race with the Garmisch-Partenkirchen slalom , but was unable to qualify for the second round. On March 14th of the same year she was in the top ten of a European Cup race for the first time and three days later she was Czech champion in slalom for the second time. The first World Cup points won Zakouřilová with 28th place in the slalom of Sestriere on December 9, 2001. In the rest of the season, however, she did not get into the points. In February 2002, she started at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . In the giant slalom she finished 27th and in the combination she achieved 16th place with tenth place in slalom and 23rd place in the downhill. On January 19, 2003, the Czech achieved her best European Cup result with fifth place in the slalom on the Tonale Pass and in February she was the best Czech in slalom (at the same time with Norwegian Line Viken ) and 34th at the 2003 World Cup in St. Moritz in the giant slalom. Her only World Cup result in the 2002/03 season was 21st place in Åre's slalom .

On December 28, 2003 Zakouřilová achieved the best World Cup result of her career with 14th place in the Lienz slalom . In addition, she reached 24th place in the slalom of Park City and 25th place in the second slalom of Levi in the 2003/04 season . The next winter she came only in the first slalom of the season in Aspen, where she was 18th, in the points. At the 2005 World Championships in Bormio , she was 20th in slalom and 37th in giant slalom. In the 2005/06 season Zakouřilová came in none of their ten World Cup races in the rating. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she was 24th in the combination and 27th in the giant slalom. In March she won the slalom and giant slalom at the Czech championships in 2006. In the 2006/07 season Zakouřilová came in 27th place in the Zwiesel slalom once in the World Cup points and at the World Championships in Åre she was 28th in slalom and 40th in giant slalom. She was also ninth in the team competition with her teammates. The next winter Zakouřilová was again without points in the World Cup, but she was Czech champion in giant slalom for the second time. In the seasons 2008/09 and 2009/10 she was not included in any World Cup races, only in the European Cup she was able to score three times in these two years. After she had not participated in the 2009 World Championships, she started at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , but failed in both slalom and giant slalom in the first round. After the Olympic Games, she only took part in the slalom of the Czech championships, where she also failed, and then ended her career.
