history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1453.

Building

The church is a Gothic building from the middle of the 15th century, which underwent minor changes in the Baroque . The northern tower with round-arched double windows in the bell storey is crowned by a pointed roof. A leg room is located in the basement of the tower . The roof of the tower and the nave are covered with shingles. The sundials and the fresco of St. Christopher are dated to 1668. Next to the profiled, keel- arched west portal is a Gothic holy water basin, above the offering box a baroque fresco of St. Rupert.

In the four-bay nave, a barrel vault with stitch caps rests on half-columns with leaf capitals . The stitch caps are framed by pearl rods with stucco angels' heads from the 17th century at the pointed ends. A round, chamfered, Gothic triumphal arch connects the nave and the former single -bay choir with a five-eighth end . Today a barrel vault with stitch caps rises above polygonal Gothic pilasters with leaf capitals and stucco decorative elements from the 17th century in the choir. In the vault there is a stucco field with a rose window. A beveled pointed arch portal with an iron-studded door leads up a staircase to the north-facing, higher sacristy . In the east, a two-lane tracery window has been preserved, a second was walled up, and the others were enlarged in the Baroque era. On the parapet of the organ gallery, eight paintings show the life of Jesus from the proclamation of the Lord to the story of the passion to the descent of the Holy Spirit .

Furnishing

The uniform furnishings of the church come from the third quarter of the 18th century. The high altar, a baroque sacrificial aisle altar with swinging column architecture and blown entablature , was created by Johann Pacher in 1759/60 . The version dates from 1764. The central picture shows St. Rupert. To the side are the figures of Saints Johannes Nepomuk , Wolfgang , Nikolaus and Franz Xaver . The canopy topped with a crown depicts the Assumption of the Virgin Mary , flanked by the sculptures of Saints George and Florian and angels. The altar has a carved antependium .

The left side altar is a rococo wall altar from 1772 with a reliquary on the cafeteria and a carved antependium. The central image of St. Barbara is flanked by the statues of St. Catherine and Margaretha . The painted medallion represents St. Isidore .

The structure of the right side altar from 1772 is the same as the left one. The middle picture shows a Pietà , the top picture the holy Notburga . The figures of Saints Peter and Maria Magdalena stand to the side .

The pulpit from 1772 was probably made by Franz Peter Kröll and has scroll and rocaille decoration . The sound cover is crowned by the sower and putti.

The Gothic baptismal font from the second half of the 15th century has a pyramid lid with a surrounding crenellated frieze and painted half-figures of St. Mary the Apostle Peter , St. Apollonia and other saints. The Stations of the Cross are from the second half of the 18th century.
