architecture

The two- bay , slightly drawn-in choir with a five-eighth end has two-lane tracery windows and stepped buttresses . Inside, the choir has a ribbed vault with round keystones. The ribs lead over bundled services over a surrounding cornice to the floor. The slightly constricted, Baroque-style fron arch shows the dates 1512 and 1750. The four-bay nave is two steps lower than the choir. The walls from the 14th century have a late Gothic ribbed vault with shield-shaped keystones from the beginning of the 16th century. Three-quarter services on richly profiled wall templates emphasize the wall structure. The windows are baroque. The east yoke of the nave in front of the fron arch was opened on both sides around 1750 for single yoke, square vaulted and elliptically closed chapel extensions. The chapels show wall pilasters with composite capitals and stucco fields . The three-axis west gallery from 1512 rests on two octagonal pillars and is vaulted with cross ribs. The gallery protrudes in the middle and has a swinging parapet from the middle of the 18th century. Two inscriptions on land plagues in the 16th and 17th centuries have been preserved under the gallery . The three-storey, late-Gothic west tower with a wedge roof has eaves cornices with grimacing heads underneath, the upper storey has chamfered corners, the sound windows have tracery. The clock face shows the years 1512, 1752 and 1952. The chiming room has a ribbed vault with a central diamond. The ogival west portal with a shoulder-arched tympanum field is crowned with a crab-covered keel arch with lateral pinnacles . To the north of the choir is a baroque sacristy extension with a barrel vaulted cap. There is an outwardly protruding spiral staircase there, another protruding spiral staircase is built into the southern choir corner.

In the sacristy there is a fresco Last Judgment from 1420, a fresco fragment in the choir is from the 15th century.

There are four stone initiation chapels around the church .

Furnishing

The remarkable Rococo furniture with high altar and side altars dates from the third quarter of the 18th century. The tabernacle on the high altar was created by the painter Johann Tendler. The high altar picture St. Jakobus the Elder according to the signature of Josef Veiter (1842) was later renovated and painted over. The two side altars St. Florian and Sebastian carry remarkable center statues. The two altars of the side chapels are St. Consecrated to Aloyius and the Three Kings. The altarpiece of the Three Wise Men is called Fordunad Jos. Marxer Graeci Fec.

There is a tombstone made of Bundscheck marble with a life-size full figure of the armored knight Georg Stadler zu Lichtenegg, who died in 1557.

The organ case from 1799 with an organ by the organ builder Ludwig Greß was changed in 1942.
