Parish Church Ruden
The Roman Catholic parish church in Ruden in the parish of the same name is consecrated to St. Mary Magdalene . The church in Ruden / Ruda was first mentioned in a document in 1511. It probably dates from the 12th century.
Building description
The church is a late Gothic building, the core of the nave presumably going back to the Romanesque . The choir from the first half of the 15th century, supported by three-tiered buttresses, is slightly drawn in compared to the nave and is significantly higher. In the south of the nave, which is supported by two-tier buttresses, a two-storey, late-Gothic sacristy is attached, and in the west a porch on pillars. The tower on the north side of the choir, with its three-part sound openings, is crowned by an eight-sided pointed helmet.
In the three-bay nave, a ribbed vault from the early 16th century rests on fluted wall templates with powerful round services . The three-axis west gallery is vaulted under star ribs and structured on the parapet wall by cornices and services. A pointed, chamfered triumphal arch connects the nave with the choir. In the two-bay choir with a five- eighth closing , a ribbed vault rises on cut-off services. Four two-lane tracery windows illuminate the choir. A beveled portal leads to the tapered barrel-vaulted tower ground floor, a profiled portal with iron plate door to the two-bay, groin-vaulted sacristy. The roofs of the church are covered with stone slabs.
