Pfizer Award (History of Science Society)

The Pfizer Award of the History of Science Society is a by the company Pfizer -sponsored science prize in the field of history of science .

The prize was donated in 1958 and was first awarded in 1959. It honors outstanding books on the history of science that have been published in English in the three years prior to the award . Since the Society for the History of Technology and the American Association for the History of Medicine award their own prizes, works on the history of technology and the history of medicine are only considered in exceptional cases. The prize is (as of 2014) endowed with 2500 US dollars . In addition, the award winner receives a medal.
