Philipp Aloys Erasmus Graf von Deroy (born March 12, 1806 in Munich ; † June 3, 1848 ibid) was a Bavarian Chamberlain and Imperial Councilor of the Crown of Bavaria .

origin

He was the son of the Bavarian general Bernhard Erasmus von Deroy (1743-1812) from Mannheim and his second wife Maria Franziska, née Freiin von Hertling (1765-1842). Their brother Philipp von Hertling (1756-1810) was the grandfather of the later German Chancellor and Bavarian Prime Minister Georg von Hertling (1843-1919).

Life

His father died on August 23, 1812 of the wounds he received in the Battle of Polotsk and was posthumously appointed Count of France by Emperor Napoleon. This dignity was passed on to the descendants and was legally recognized in Bavaria in 1813 and 1820. Philipp Aloys Erasmus von Deroy joined the Bavarian Army and achieved the rank of Rittmeister à la suite .

He married in 1834 with Hortense Henriette Sophie Amélie de Tascher de La Pagerie (1814–1898), whose father Pierre Claude Louis Robert de Tascher de La Pagerie (1787–1861) was in turn the cousin of Emperor Napoleon's first wife Joséphine de Beauharnais .

As the only remaining male offspring of his family line, Philipp Aloys Erasmus von Deroy was able to summarize all the endowments that his father had received when he was raised to the rank of Count and acquire new ones. He united them as a family entourage and constituted the property as a Bavarian throne. These were Pfettrach , Weihenstephan , Mirskofen , Essenbach , Deutelkofen and Göttelkofen . Deroy became the Imperial Councilor of the Crown of Bavaria and through him this position in the family remained hereditary. He was also the Bavarian chamberlain.

Louise Cécile Rose Elisabeth Sophie Tascher de La Pagerie (1818–1890), the sister of Deroy's wife, had married Count Adalbert Waldner von Freundstein (1819–1857), the son of Count Theodor Waldner von Freundstein , who lived in Weinheim , his sister Diana Rabe von Pappenheim (1788–1844) was temporarily the lover of Jérôme Bonaparte , King of Westphalia , the youngest brother of Emperor Napoleon .
