Picture Me Broken is a metalcore band from Redwood City , California that was signed to Megaforce Records . The debut album Wide Awake was released on July 6, 2010 via Megaforce.

Picture Me Broken was founded in 2005 by front woman Layla Brooklyn Allman and bassist Austin Dunn. Both have known each other since school and wanted to start a band when they were 12 years old. The group was inspired by groups like Paramore , Heart and Flyleaf , all of whom have female front singers. Her musical influences, however, are groups like Blessthefall , Before Their Eyes and Scary Kids Scaring Kids .
At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards , the group won the Best Breakout Bay Area Artist category . In the same year, the group was among the 20 best-known unsigned bands in the PureVolume ranking.
Her song Dearest (I'm So Sorry) from the EP of the same name, which was released in 2009, can be heard in the video game Rock Band 2 .
The group around front singer and keyboardist Layla Brooklyn Allman has been under contract with StandBy Records since 2011 . Other musicians are Dante Phoenix ( lead guitar ), Jimmy Strimpel ( guitar ), Austin Dunn ( bass ) and Connor Lung ( drums ).
Picture Me Broken already played on the Warped Tour in San Francisco (2009) and also on the SXSW (2010). The group was also opener for Saosin in 2009. After the group switched to StandBy Records , the group worked on a new EP. This is called Mannequins and is due to be released on December 18, 2012.
