Piergiorgio Silvano Nesti CP (born February 18, 1931 in Marostica , Vicenza Province , Italy , † December 13, 2009 in Rome ) was a Roman Catholic Curia Archbishop .

Life

Piergiorgio Silvano Nesti joined the Congregation of the Passionists in and received on 30 August 1959, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 23 July 1993 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Archbishop of Camerino-San Severino Marche . The episcopal ordination received his Angelo Felici , Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints , on August 29, 1993; Co- consecrators were Cleto Bellucci , Archbishop of Fermo , and Salvatore De Giorgi , Archbishop of Taranto .

On November 27, 1996, Pope John Paul II appointed him Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life .

On July 10, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. Nestis, for reasons of age, submitted a resignation from the office of Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and for Societies of Apostolic Life.

He was buried in the Passionists' crypt in the Verano cemetery in Rome.
