Pierre Borel (musician)
Pierre Borel (* 1987 in Paris ) is a French jazz and improvisation musician ( saxophone , clarinet ) and composer .
Pierre Borel works in the field of improvised and experimental music. He continued his saxophone studies (classical and jazz), which he began in Paris, in Berlin in 2006. In 2008 he obtained his master's degree at the Jazz Institute Berlin and then studied philosophy in Paris. In 2009 he founded the Umlaut Berlin Festival with Florian Bergmann and Hannes Lingens ; He is also a member of the musician collective Umlaut , with whom he recorded three albums. In 2011 he performed with Johnny Chang (violin) and Derek Shirley (bass) at the Umlaut Festival in Paris. Borel belongs to Christian Lillinger's reason and has released three albums with this septet so far (2018). He also works with Tobias Delius , Sebastian Gramss , Joel Grip, Tetuzi Akiyama, Christoph Kurzmann, Didier Lasserre, Madoka Kouno and Christian Marien .
