Pierre Imhasly

Pierre Imhasly (born November 14, 1939 in Visp ; † June 17, 2017 there ) was a Swiss writer .

Life

Pierre Imhasly studied German and Romance languages at the universities of Friborg (Switzerland) and Zurich and then spent a long time in Italy and Spain . In 1981 he took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt .

Imhasly was a writer of prose and poetry . He also emerged as a translator from French . His poem Widerpart or Fuga with Organ Point from Snow was published in 1979 by Suhrkamp Verlag . His life's work is the Rhone Saga published by Stroemfeld Verlag , on which he wrote for 12 years.

Pierre Imhasly was a member of the Association of Authors of Switzerland . He lived in Nîmes and Visp.
