history

In 1782 the Zittau council had a new residential area built 300 m south of Herrenwalde. The very small parcels marked with Steinfleckel, Trepsefleckel and Keilfleckel on the very water-rich mountain meadows on the Weberberghang were separated by four hooves on the southern boundary of Herrenwalde. In 1835 the Upper Village consisted of 11 cottagers. The residents lived from linen and twill weaving. The mushroom village remained a Zittau council village until the middle of the 19th century and was part of the parish of Waltersdorf. The place has not increased since the 19th century. The last jacquard loom was in operation until 1910.

Pilzdörfel was never independent and was a unit with Herrenwalde. The place was a district of Waltersdorf until 2003 and was incorporated into Großschönau in 2004. Since then, Pilzdörfel has been represented in the community by the Waltersdorf local council.
