His marriage fell apart and his daughter grew up with Steve, who later got together with Matt's wife.

Today he has a million dollars in debt that he cannot possibly repay. An underground organization led by the "old man" is ready to pay him this debt if Matt clears some criminals out of their way. Matt agrees. He does his first job without a remorse. A mafioso and a Korean criminal who are both involved in the counterfeit money business. He also meets another professional killer named Andrea "Drea" Smalls and falls in love with her.

But when he is supposed to shoot his ex-partner, Matt refuses. He confronts Steve with his assignment. What he doesn't know, however, is that Steve stole the money from the evidence room and is involved in corrupt business. Steve feels forced to act and kills a priest, to whom Matt goes to confession . He directs suspicion on the middleman "Blue" and arrests Matt so that he can lead him to the "old man". Steve puts Matt under surveillance after his release, but Blue and Matt escape. Matt now wants to take care of Steve by himself, but he gets help from Drea and Blue.

At the priest's funeral there is a showdown, during which Steve uses Matt's daughter as leverage. Blue dies in the subsequent firefight. Andrea is able to free Matt's daughter and Matt kills Steve. After the showdown, Matt and his daughter are reunited. But Andrea brings him the next job.

criticism

The film is a typical B-action film without any major surprises and is one of the late works of leading actor Steven Seagal.

“Deathly Weapon” offers a rather lame story, which at least shows Seagal in a role that suits him to some extent, can convince at least every now and then with supporting actor Paul Calderon, some good dialogues and two action scenes. Since the big action scenes are cleverly placed at the end, the hardcore video rental customer will perhaps even forget the boring rest of the enthusiasm for them. "

"Stereotypical Steven Seagal action film, tailored to its star."
