The Piz da las Coluonnas (from the Rhaeto-Romanic culuonna for 'column') is a mountain south of the Julier Pass in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland with a height of 2802 m above sea level. M. In the SAC club guides, point 2961 southeast of point 2802 is referred to as Piz da las Coluonnas. The mountain takes its name from the fragments of a Roman column on the top of the Julier Pass at the foot of the mountain.
Location and surroundings
The Piz da las Coluonnas belongs to the Piz Lagrev group, a subgroup of the Albula Alps . The municipal boundary between Surses and Silvaplana runs 100 m east of the summit, the summit itself is located in the municipality of Surses.
The neighboring peaks include the Piz d'Emmat Dadora , the Piz Lagrev and the Piz Polashin . In the north of the mountain is the Julier Pass, in the south the Fuorcla Lagrev connects the massif with the Piz Lagrev. At the foot of the mountain there are three lakes, Lej da las Culuonnas in the north, Leg Grevasalvas in the south-west and Lej Lagrev in the south-east.
