Plockhorst ( Low German Plockhost ) is a place in the municipality of Edemissen in the district of Peine in Lower Saxony .

geography

Plockhorst is located on the southern edge of the Lüneburg Heath.

history

The village "Plochhorst" was first mentioned in a document in 1272. From 1532 to 1885 the place belonged to the Gografschaft Edemissen in the Amt Meinersen. Then he came to the Peine district to this day.

In 1966 Eltze formed a joint community with the villages of Dedenhausen , Wehnsen, Plockhorst, Eickenrode and Ohof . In the course of the regional reform in Lower Saxony, on March 1, 1974, the unified municipality of Edemissen was formed from the localities of the joint municipality of Edemissen and eight other independent municipalities.

The fire in 1811 is historically remarkable. During this memorable event, 32 buildings were destroyed in one fell swoop. The new Plockhorst was no longer laid out so closely. They built more spaciously, two extinguishing water ponds were created. Plockhorst stayed drowsy until the train came and turned the village into a traffic junction.

The Magdeburg-Halberstädter Eisenbahngesellschaft set up a train station on the Lehrte – Stendal line they built in 1871 in Plockhorst. This is where the Reichsbahn line Celle – Braunschweig later crossed , which reached Plockhorst in 1921 from Celle and was continued to Braunschweig in 1923. The tower station was a special feature. A cross-connection between Plockhorst and Peine was added in 1922. But this was also the first to be shut down on June 1, 1958. On May 27, 1962, passenger traffic to Braunschweig was discontinued, and passenger traffic to Celle on May 23, 1971. In 1980 the station building was demolished. In 1988, stopping people on the Berlin – Lehrte line was given up. The last freight train on the Braunschweig – Uetze line ran in 1991. In 1984 the bridge and platform were removed except for a track trough, and in 1994 this was finally removed for the expansion of the Lehrte – Berlin line.

The Protestant denomination was already consolidated in the early 16th century . Plockhorst is one of five chapel parishes in the parish of the Martin Luther parish of Edemissen. During the great fire of 1811, the old chapel was also destroyed by flames. In 1957 the chapel community acquired the old school building from 1910 in the course of the final dispute over property rights between the chapel and school community. From 1958, the old school served the Plockhorstern as a chapel. In 1995 Plockhorst inaugurated the newly built parish hall with chapel room - the Johannes Chapel.
