The Plymouth County is a county in the state of Massachusetts of the United States . The county seat is Brockton and Plymouth .

The county has an area of 2832 square kilometers, of which 1120 square kilometers are water. It is bordered in a clockwise direction by the following counties: Norfolk County , Barnstable County, and Bristol County .
history
Plymouth County was one of three founding counties of Plymouth Colony in 1685 .
Five sites in the county have National Historic Landmark status . A total of 123 buildings and locations in the county are registered in the National Register of Historic Places (as of November 17, 2017).

According to the 2000 census , Plymouth County's population was 472,822 in 168,361 households and 122,398 families. The population was composed of 88.70 percent white, 4.56 percent African American, 0.92 percent Asian, and 0.21 percent Native American. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 2.44 percent of the population. The per capita income was $ 24,789; 4.9 percent of families and 6.6 percent of the population lived below the poverty line .
