Reviews

Nathanael Brohammer, film correspondent for the Gilde deutscher Filmkunsttheater , writes, apart from Omar Sy, who is always sympathetic against the grain, the film is also able to hit some unexpected hooks in terms of plot and captivates especially in the second half, when the tension during the nightly wandering Parisian little by little increases. The final message that humane principles can also be enforced against certain obligations and credos à la “execute and shut up”, however, turns out to be a bit too polite or forgiving overall, which means that up to the limit its potential for subsequent ethical reflection is partially untouched let. The basically clever narrative structure could not completely hide the fact that hardships and problems of everyday police work are touched on, but not deepened too much.
