The man Shield Minimize ( Minuartia cherlerioides ), also upholstered Minimize called, is a plant species within the family of the Pink family (Caryophyllaceae).

description

There are two subspecies; the following description refers to the nominate form Minuartia cherlerioides subsp. cherlerioides .

The Mannsschild chickweed is a perennial herbaceous plant . It forms 2 to 5 centimeters high dense cushions with columnar stem axes. The fleshy leaves are 1 to 3 millimeters long and have three clearly protruding, thick nerves underneath. The shape of the leaves is elongated-ovate to ovate, rounded at the front (rarely short-pricked), on top a little groove-shaped (concave). The edge is bare, tip hood-shaped, mostly blunt (rounded; rarely with a short spiked tip).

The flowering period extends from July to August. The hermaphrodite flower is fourfold. There are four petals or they are missing (see occurrence). The four white petals are 2 to 4 millimeters long and have three nerves. There are two circles with four stamens each.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 36.

Occurrence

In Austria it can be found scattered in the federal states of Upper Austria , Styria , Carinthia , Salzburg and Tyrol .

The Mannsschild Miere is rare overall. It prefers altitudes between 2000 and 3000 meters. The Mannsschild-Miere prefers limestone and dolomite rocks and rock debris corridors in the upper alpine altitude as a location and is considered a character species of Potentilletalia caulescentis . The Mannsschild Miere thrives best on fine , stony soils .

The Mannsschild-Miere comes in Central Europe in the north-eastern Limestone Alps from Berchtesgaden to the Hochschwab (partly penetrating the eastern Central Alps , namely in the Mallnitzer and Radstädter Tauern); from the southern Limestone Alps of Carinthia, the Carnic and Julian Alps to the Dolomites ; west of the Adige with macerated area in the Brenta Dolomites , in the Judikarischen Alps and Grigne massif. In the Southern Limestone Alps, it also occurs in the Bergamasque Alps and from the Dolomites eastward to the Julian Alps.

For some time, the Mannsschild-Miere has been geographically differentiated into two races : north-east alpine with petals and south alpine without petals ( Wraber , unpublished).

Systematics

Minuartia cherlerioides p. st. is divided into two geographically and ecologically strictly separated, but morphologically very similar clans (no common occurrence).

  • Minuartia cherlerioides subsp. cherlerioides
  • Minuartia cherlerioides subsp. rionii (Gremli) Friedrich : This subspecies is mainly native to Switzerland .
