Pouancé

Pouancé is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Ombrée d'Anjou with 3,282 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire .

The community was Pouancé on 15 December 2016, nine other communities, including La Chapelle-Hullin , Chazé-Henry , Grugé-l'Hôpital , Noëllet , Combrée , La Prévière , Saint-Michel-et-Chanveaux , Le Tremblay and Vergonnes to the new municipality of Ombrée d'Anjou.

Pouancé is located on the Verzée River , about 16 kilometers east of Châteaubriant ; More spaciously seen in the middle of the city square Rennes - Laval - Angers - Nantes . The Verzée flows through the Étang de Saint-Aubin above Pouarcé and the Étang de Tressé below the village .

The clock tower from the 15th century, a stately dovecote and the former salt store from the 17th century are classified as Inscrites Monuments Historiques .
The ruins of the castle from the 13th and 15th centuries, high above the Verzée Valley, are registered as Monument Historique and Site Inscrit . The remains of eleven torn down towers can be found on the castle wall from the 13th century.
In the village there are houses in the Renaissance style from the 15th century, houses from the 17th century, lavoirs and a mill.
