The Presidium of the 6th German Bundestag consisted of Bundestag President Kai-Uwe von Hassel ( CDU ) and the four Vice-Presidents Carlo Schmid , Hermann Schmitt-Vockenhausen (both SPD ), Richard Jaeger ( CSU ) and Liselotte Funcke ( FDP ).
Election of the President of the Bundestag
The election of the President of the Bundestag took place in the constituent session of the Bundestag newly elected on September 28, 1969 on October 20, 1969. The electoral president William Borm (FDP) led the election process . The von Hassel proposed by the CDU parliamentary group leader Rainer Barzel received 411 of the 517 votes cast, which corresponded to 79.50%. This was a significantly better result than his first election in February 1969.
Election of the vice-presidents
The election of the vice-presidents took place on October 28, 1969. The previous incumbents Carlo Schmid ( SPD ) and Richard Jaeger ( CSU ) as well as Hermann Schmitt-Vockenhausen ( SPD ) and Liselotte Funcke ( FDP ) had been proposed. The nominees were elected with a large majority in a combined ballot.
