history

The location is young and arose at the end of the 19th century around the Obertressen sanatorium. It was founded in 1896 as Dr. Schreiber's Soolbad and Badehotel Elisabeth founded by the Viennese doctor Josef Schreiber (1835–1908). It has been a Styrian youth home since 1979. The outbuilding, the bathing establishment, is a listed building .

The place name probably comes from the Hallamtsverweser Christoph von Praunfalk  († 1545), the name is found later as a field name.

Another object of the listed Wilhelminian residential area is the Dorrekheim . It had been a boarding school (Landesschülerheim) for the municipal schools since 1964, but was closed as such in 2013.

Praunfalk belonged with all Obertressen to Grundlsee until 1938 , this was incorporated in the course of the connection to Bad Aussee.

In 1950 the boys' main school, which dates back to the community school for boys founded in 1919 in the industrial school, moved here. The school was built right next to the Dorrekheim (Plaisirgasse). It later became the Second Secondary School Otto Körber School . In 1960 the private middle school (" Höttl School"), later a public upper secondary school, today's Archduke Johann BORG Bad Aussee , was housed here. Her students included, for example, Niki Lauda and André Heller . In 1984/85 this school moved to the new federal school center in Unterkainisch . The girls' secondary school, founded in 1939, was also moved here in 1962. It became the Hauptschule I Hans Gielge School . As of 2013/14, both schools were combined in the New Middle School NMS Bad Aussee.
