The Archduke Johann Monument is in the center of the spa park. A design by Hans Brandstetter from 1911 for a monumental monument to Archduke Johann was not realized. The design of today's iron statue comes from Hans Weissenberger in 1856, the statue was probably cast in the Salm factory in Blansko. The statue first stood in Carl von Schwarz's park in Salzburg around 1860 , and around 1935 it was brought to Bad Aussee and placed in the spa gardens. The monument shows the Archduke as a hunter with a shotgun, binoculars and a serious look. According to Dehio, it dates back to 1882.
