On the Czech side, Vorderzinnwald bordered Voitsdorf and Böhmisch Zinnwald . On the German side, the place bordered on Fürstenau and Zinnwald-Georgenfeld in Saxony . Vorderzinnwald is located about 45 km south of Dresden in the upper Ore Mountains . The neighboring German communities of Fürstenau and Zinnwald-Georgenfeld can be reached via hiking trails ( small border traffic ).

history

Vorder-Zinnwald was in the 15./16. Founded in the 19th century due to tin finds in the ridge area, from Graupen .

The place was settled by miners and loggers . Farm workers who also cultivated fields on Fürstenauer and Geisinger corridors also settled here .

In 1833 there were 172 inhabitants in 30 houses. In 1887 the pilgrimage chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was completed , with the grace altar from the 15th century from the Fürstenau church. For a long time the place belonged to the parish of Fürstenau, which they reached via the old church path.

The population improved their meager wages by sewing straw hats , weaving raffia and wicker baskets, embroidering women's stockings and making paper flowers. After 1900 there was an economic upswing in the three restaurants with guest rooms , through the emergence of winter sports and through visits from summer visitors.

In 1938, 250 inhabitants lived in 54 houses in the district of Bohemian Zinnwald . After the end of the Second World War and after the Czechs had expelled all residents, the place and its pilgrimage chapel were razed to the ground. The corridors of this community are now pasture and fallow land .
