The Prevelis is a ferry of the Greek ANEK Lines that entered service in 1980 as Ferry Orange No 2 . The ship has been in service on the route from Piraeus to Chania since 2007 .

history

The Prevelis was built under the construction number 396 at Imabari Zōsen in Imabari and delivered on November 9, 1980 to the Shikoku Kaihatsu Ferry KK based in Tokyo . On December 27, 1980, the ship was put into service on the route from Tokyo to Osaka .

In July 1994 the Ferry Orange No 2 was sold to the Rethymniaki Naftiliaki Touristiki AE and converted by Arminio Lozzi in Perama for ferry service in the Mediterranean . In August 1994 the ship was put into service by Cretan Ferries between Piraeus and Rethymnon under the name Preveli .

In 2000 the Preveli went first to Dane Sea Lines , then as Prevelis to ANEK Lines, for which it was used from Piraeus to Rethymnon, Dodecanese and Heraklion . Since April 2001 the ship has only been in use between Piraeus and Rethymnon.

From October 24-29 , 2003 the Prevelis was used for a single cruise from Crete to Katakolo , Zakinthos , Kerkira , Kefalonia and Kalamata . Then she returned to normal liner service.

In April 2006 the ship switched to the route from Piraeus to Chania. Between April and September 2008 it was also used for the route from Piraeus via Paros to Naxos , Ios , Santorini and Syros .

Since the bankruptcy of the shipping company GA Ferries in 2009, Prevelis has been serving the Piraeus - Crete - Rhodes route all year round, calling at Milos, Santorini, Anafi, Kassos, Karpathos and Chalki.
