history
With the Primus line on the Main
In 1973, in the preparation phase for founding his own shipping company, the Primus-Linie , Anton Nauheimer ordered the ship from the Schmidt shipyard in Bonn - Oberkassel . This first ship, the Primus , gave the shipping company its name. In operation, his ship competed with Adolf Nauheimer and the Vikings , his cousin Hans Nauheimer and the Vaterland and, from 1976, with his great cousin Adolf-Ulfried Nauheimer and the Vikings 2 . The difference between the Primus was less in the destinations of the excursions than in the on-board catering. At that time, rustic hospitality was common - Anton Nauheimer focused on upscale gastronomy with the Primus and was successful with it.
At the same time as the Vikings were discontinued in 1981 and the Vaterland in 1991, Nauheimer expanded its fleet and thus also expanded the Primus cruise program . In 1996, the Primus and the two new ships Nautilus and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe alternated between regular services up the Main to Aschaffenburg , down the Main to Mainz and Wiesbaden and beyond to the Upper Middle Rhine Valley . There were also programs such as music trips, to Rhine in Flames , candlelight dinners, charter trips and the like.
After more than 35 years of service with the Primus , Anton Nauheimer modernized his fleet, which now consists of five ships, and replaced the old ship in 2012 with the new Maria Sibylla Merian . He sold the Primus to Hungary.
With Armada Budapest on the Danube
The transfer of the Primus took place in February 2013. The new owner, the Armada Budapest Hajózás , had the ship modernized, and the home port has been Budapest since then. Even if a conversion is not reported, the information on the dimensions has since deviated from 41.00 meters in length and 7.00 meters in width. The new owners kept the name of the ship.
The shipping company Armada Budapest has eight ships with the Primus , the Primus is still intended for 250 passengers. From Budapest the ship goes on excursion and panorama cruises and can also be rented for charter trips.
The ship
The ship is 37.60 meters long and 7.60 meters wide. The draft is 1.10 meters. Driven Primus two MAN - diesel engines each with 136 kW of power, the two Z-Drive drive type SRP 100th It is equipped with an electrically powered bow thruster .
The ship has three decks and is approved for 250 passengers. The lower deck with a panoramic view is suitable for 120 to 150 people, the middle deck for 80 to 100 people. There is also an open deck for 50 people on the middle deck and the sun deck for 70 people.
