Private Detectives in Action is a German television series that was produced from 2011 to 2014 for the German television broadcaster RTL II . The pseudo-docu-soap consists of 4 seasons with a total of 289 episodes and seven specials.
action
The focus of the series is the martial arts experienced and former bouncer, detective chief Carsten Stahl . He runs a fictional private detective agency, mostly with employees who are experienced in martial arts. With his investigators, he solves two cases in each episode. Most of them contain fight scenes with aggressive, violent opponents where Stahl's skills are required. The colleagues are put together individually for each case according to their special skills in teams that solve their cases in action-packed investigations.
Although the plot is completely fictional in this series, the documentary camera style suggests to the viewers to be close to the investigation of real cases and to get a realistic insight into the investigative work of private detectives . Perpetrators, victims and other people who are not part of the investigative team are amateur actors.

Charisma
After the first season was canceled in autumn 2011 due to bad ratings, the broadcast of the second, from spring 2012, went significantly better. Private detectives on duty had a higher response on the 6 p.m. slot and were moved up to the 5 p.m. slot in August. The repeats of the previous day's broadcast always took place at 1 p.m. During the summer, two episodes ran on Saturday from 6 p.m., with passable success, but from the beginning of September RTL II decided not to broadcast these two episodes either.
The third season, part 1 from October 22, 2012 to November 16, 2012 on air, was broadcast in two parts, as RTL II first wanted to wait for the quotas for the first episodes and then decide whether to move the broadcasting slot. Since the response was okay, it was decided to show the remaining episodes from January 7, 2013 on the same slot.
Due to a restructuring of the lunchtime and afternoon programming at the beginning of November 2012, RTL II moved the repeats to 2 p.m. and showed the previous day's episodes of Berlin - Day & Night - on the broadcasting slot of private detectives in action .
It was also planned to show double episodes of Scripted Reality from the beginning of November from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., but this change only came about on November 19, 2012.
Furthermore, RTL II shot a 90-minute special episode in which the detectives in Las Vegas investigate. This should be broadcast in the Saturday primetime in autumn 2012, but the decision was made against it and waited for the time being. It was later decided to take a place in Wednesday prime time. The special episode aired on January 2, 2013 at 8:15 pm with a heavy quota. A total of 1.81 million viewers watched, which corresponds to an outstanding 5.4 percent market share of the total audience. In the advertising-relevant target group, RTL II even gained 8.5 percent market share.
On November 19, 2012, it was announced that RTL II will not broadcast double episodes on the previous evening from January 2, 2013 and that the program will run from January 2 to 4 from 4:15 p.m. During this time, the 5 p.m. slot was equipped with a second episode of X-Diaries , before private detectives on duty at 5 p.m. and the new series Cologne 50667 at 6 p.m.
After the termination of The Youth Club - Together we are strong , two episodes in a row were shown again from January 18, 2013. With the start of broadcasting new episodes of X-Diaries on May 13, RTL II will again only show one episode of private detectives on duty at 4 p.m.
In the period from August 26th to August 30th, the fourth season was always shown in double episodes at 4:05 p.m. on RTL II, from September 2nd 2013 only in single episodes.
