Puerto Asís is the largest municipality ( municipio ) in the department of Putumayo in southwestern Colombia . However, the capital of Putumayo is Mocoa, 90 km to the north .

geography

Puerto Asís is almost on the border with Ecuador (the border town is the settlement Ayacucho ) and at the junction of two source rivers of the Río Putumayo , which is why it is also of regional importance as a port.
