Pulitzer Prize / Fiction
The Pulitzer Prize for Fiction ( Pulitzer Prize for Fiction ) is since 1948 awarded for outstanding fiction by American authors. There were no winners in 1954, 1957, 1964, 1971, 1974, 1977 and 2012. From 1917 to 1947 the category was called Roman ( Pulitzer Prize for the Novel ). In 1917, 1920, 1941 and 1946 there were no winners. Two novels by the same author ( Booth Tarkington - William Faulkner - John Updike - Colson Whitehead ) were awarded four times by 2020 .
