Qilersiut [ qilɜsːiutˢʰ ] (the old spelling K'ilersiut ) is a desolate fallen Greenlandic settlement in the district Ilulissat in Avannaata Come Unia .

location

Qilersiut is located on the south bank of the mouth of the Paakitsoq fjord . The closest inhabited places are Oqaatsut 14 km south and Ilulissat 28 km south.

history

Little is known about Qilersiut. The living space was probably settled around 1900. The residents of Ataa blamed the settlement of Qilersiut for their economic problems, even though the two places are dozens of kilometers apart. Shortly after 1915, Qilersiut was abandoned and many of the residents moved to Arsivik .
