Naajaat [ naːˈjaːtˢʰ ] (according to the old spelling Naujât ) is a deserted Greenlandic settlement in the Ilulissat district in the Avannaata Kommunia .
location
Naajaat is located in the south of a peninsula on the north bank of the Torsukattak . The closest location is Qeqertaq , which is just 6.5 km northwest.
history
Naajaat was not settled until 1913 and was probably never inhabited before. The place belonged to the municipality of Qeqertaq. In 1915 the residential area had twelve residents who lived in two houses. There were only two hunters among them. The residential area does not appear in the 1930 census, which suggests that Naajaat was abandoned during the 1920s.
