The Rähdensee east of Groß Muckrow in Brandenburg lies between the Möschensee in the north and the Krügersee in the south.

geography

Already in 1665 was the lake as Stzreden to 1820 as Szreden lake mentioned, which is probably the Lower Sorbian Sredny is borrowed and middle, middle one is so mid-lake . The three lakes are located as a chain in the Demnitz - Oelse -Rinne, which stretches from Reicherskreuz to Chossewitz and to the Oelsener See and was created as a subglacial channel at the end of the Vistula Cold Age due to the disintegration of the ice on the Fünfeichener high altitude complex .

nature

The Rähdensee has an area of 12.2 hectares and a visibility depth of about one meter. It is a popular bathing water and, thanks to the clear water that is poor in nutrients, only little reed beds are overgrown on the bank edge. Individual pairs of great crested grebes and mallards breed here . In the black woodpecker caves in the area the golden- bellied duck breeds , as the pine - sessile oak - forest comes close to the shore. On the steep slopes to the Rähdensee, especially on the east bank, the hills rise to around 100–110 m above sea level. NHN , there are red beech , stocks of club bear moss and sprouting bear moss as well as round-leaved wintergreen . The small chain of lakes is protected as a fauna and flora habitat on an area of 219.18 ha. This is also where otters and large moss maids find their habitat in the Schlaubetal Nature Park .

The Groß Muckrow fishing club has been working with the Institute for Inland Fisheries in Potsdam for several years . A multi-year research project is investigating how the eel grows in our waters. The Rähdensee is particularly suitable for this, as it prevents the eel from migrating due to the lack of inflow and outflow and offers enough food for it. The lake is regularly supplied with stocking fish by anglers, in addition to carp and other white fish, there is also pike .

The Fishing is permitted only with permission.
