Rémi Charmasson

Rémi Charmasson (actually Rémy Charmasson , born May 3, 1961 in Avignon ) is a French jazz musician ( guitar , composition ).

Live and act

Charmasson, who was initially self-taught as a guitarist , studied with André Jaume at the conservatory in his native city from 1985 . In 1987 he received a First Prize there and then appeared in Jaume's trio. The following year he performed in a duo with bassist Claude Tchamitchian , which was also documented on an album in 1991. At festivals he played with Jimmy Giuffre , Buddy Collette and Charlie Mariano . In a collaborative trio with Fredy Studer and Jean-François Jenny-Clark , he presented the album Nemo (1993). In the following years he played with his own formations, a quintet (with which he presented two albums, including a Jimi Hendrix tribute album) and Rémi Charmasson Southerners . He also worked with Guillaume Séguron , Charles Tyler , Denis Charles , Anthony Ortega , Alain Soler , Raymond Boni and René Bottlang . He was also a member of the Trio Cappozzo Charmasson Ponthieux (with Jean-Luc Cappozzo and Jean-Luc Ponthieux ). In the field of jazz he was involved in 28 recording sessions between 1988 and 2012.
