Röhrsdorf was incorporated into Niederwiera on July 1, 1950 , which in turn was incorporated into Oberwiera on March 1, 1964. geography

Geographical location

Röhrsdorf is located in the northeastern municipality of Oberwiera. The Wiera , a tributary of the Pleiße, flows through the village .

In the north, Röhrsdorf borders the Free State of Thuringia ( Altenburger Land ). Before 1950 the situation was exactly the opposite: the Thuringian Röhrsdorf was then surrounded by Saxon towns in the north, west and south. Since the Saxon places in the north came to Thuringia in 1952 and Röhrsdorf to Saxony in 1957, the current state border in this area has changed significantly.

history

The forest hoof village Röhrsdorf was first mentioned in 1335 as "Rudegersdorf". Like its neighboring village Niederwiera, Röhrsdorf originally belonged to the property of the Grünhain Abbey in the Western Ore Mountains in Altenburger Land . The church was parish to Niederwiera.

Röhrsdorf and the Altenburg part of Gähsnitz belonging to Röhrsdorf , known as Jesenitz, belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies from the 16th century due to several divisions in the course of its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxe-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, Röhrsdorf again became part of the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. After the administrative reform in the duchy, the town, which had 145 inhabitants around 1880, belonged to the Eastern District (until 1900) and to the Altenburg District Office (from 1900). From 1918 Röhrsdorf belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which was added to the State of Thuringia in 1920. In 1922 the place came to the district of Altenburg .

In contrast to the three today's Oberwieraer districts, which were divided between Saxony and Thuringia until 1928, the completely Thuringian Röhrsdorf as well as its neighbor Niederwiera remained untouched by the exchange of territory and the border adjustment between the Free State of Saxony and the State of Thuringia in 1928. The Thuringian part of Gähsnitz previously belonging to Röhrsdorf, known as Jesenitz, was, however, ceded to Saxony and merged with the Saxon part of Gähsnitz.

On July 1, 1950, Röhrsdorf was incorporated into Niederwiera. Even after the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the Niederwiera community with its Röhrsdorf district remained in the Altenburg district in the Leipzig district . It was not until January 1, 1957 that the community was reclassified to the Glauchau district in the Karl-Marx-Stadt district , which ended its historical affiliation with the Thuringian Altenburger Land. From an ecclesiastical point of view, the former Altenburg parish of Niederwiera now belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Saxony .

On March 1, 1964, the municipality of Niederwiera with its district Röhrsdorf was incorporated into the municipality of Oberwiera together with Wickersdorf . Therefore, Röhrsdorf now represents one of the six ears of corn in the municipality's coat of arms. As part of the municipality of Oberwiera, Röhrsdorf came to the Saxon district of Glauchau in 1990 , which was added to the district of Chemnitzer Land in 1994 and in 2008 in the district of Zwickau.
