Rudiger Hurrle

Rüdiger Hurrle (born December 23, 1936 in Rastatt ) is a German entrepreneur and art collector.

Life

Hurrle attended the Progymnasium in Oberkirch (Baden) and passed the business school diploma in Offenburg in 1956 . After completing an apprenticeship for the higher municipal service at the regional council of North Baden , he studied economics at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . From 1963 he headed the newly created culture, traffic and trade fair office of the city of Offenburg. The Oberrheinhalle was built during his two years in office. Hurrle initiated the Ortenau Wine Festival and the establishment of the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences . Franz Burda brought him to Hubert Burda Media as a member of the management in 1965 . In the spring of 1973, Hurrle started his own business as a management consultant for companies and municipalities.

Clinics

In the same year the Hurrle GmbH was founded. She built the first clinics in Blieskastel and Durbach . In 1998 the Hurrle Group operated 32 clinics with 6400 beds throughout Germany, making it one of the largest private clinic companies in Germany. 750 million euros were invested and 5,400 jobs were created. To secure the future, the 32 clinic operations were combined in 1999 as Mediclin in a stock corporation . The first acute care hospitals emerged in the New Länder , in Bad Düben , Coswig (Anhalt) and Plau am See . The hospitals in Crivitz and Waren (Müritz) were taken over and expanded . The main focus of Mediclin ( taken over by Asklepios Kliniken ) is still today on rehabilitation according to the Ninth Book of the Social Security Code .

Common good

Hurrle is one of the founding members of the Offenburg Community Foundation St. Andreas. He donated the athletics hall named after him and has been president of the LG Offenburg since 1970 . He founded the German Society for Medical Rehabilitation . His private collection is considerable and extensive . There are many steles by contemporary artists in his company's garden .
