The ЭТ4А (ET4A) is a railcar of the RŽD built by the Torchok wagon factory , which is used especially in suburban traffic on networks with 3 kV DC voltage . The factory name of him is 62-9003 . It can be described as the first multiple unit with three-phase traction motors ( asynchronous motors ) by the RŽD, which has also received the certificate for safe operation. The first unit of the vehicle was delivered in 2011 by the Torzhok wagon factory. The letter A stands for "asynchronous motor" ( Russian Асинхронный двигатель ). As of September 2014 three units with different compositions have been delivered (ET4A.001–003).

prehistory

The ЭТ4A (ET4A) is the third electric train from the RŽD , which was equipped with three-phase traction motors for use on lines with direct current ; the first unit - the ЭT2A electric train , which was also manufactured in the Torzhok wagon factory, turned out to be unreliable in its drive, so that series production turned out to be impossible. The control cars he left behind are still in the manufacturing plant. The second train of a similar type was manufactured by the Demichowo machine factory and was named ЭД6 . Hitachi traction motors were used on this train . Due to problems with the bogies of the motor vehicle and difficulties in assembling the equipment from different manufacturers, this train could not go into series production either. He is currently in Omsk . As for the networks with alternating current , the only multiple unit with three-phase traction motors is the RŽD series ЭН3 , built by the Novocherkassk electric locomotive factory . The vehicle is located in the Novocherkassk region . In this context, the ЭТ4A (ET4A) can practically be described as the only domestic electric hoist for networks with direct current, which is driven by three-phase traction motors.

The ЭТ4A (ET4A) was completely developed in Russia; by engineers from the company ЦНИИ ТрансЭлектроПрибор ("ZNII Transelektroapparate") from Saint Petersburg and the OAO Дальняя Связь, who designed the vehicles from the complete traction drive to the air conditioning systems .

The main technical data of the train, designed as a 10-car unit, are:

  • maximum speed - 120 km / h,
  • technical speed - not more than 78 km / h,
  • average acceleration - not more than 0.8 m / s 2 ,
  • Braking distance from the speed 120 km / h - 1,050 m,
  • Empty weight - 609 t,
  • Number of seats - 1092.

Systems of control and diagnostics

Up-to-date facilities for the control and diagnostics of the train were used on the train. The control systems allow the train to work in the following ways:

  • automatic steering (supports the commanded speed),
  • Manual control (the train is controlled manually by the drive switch),
  • САВП (SAWP - this is a system of car guidance of the train with maximum economy when starting and calculating the run-out)
  • Average (in case of failure of the automatic or САВП (SAWP) control or failure of the driver's desk).

The vehicle has three types of braking systems:

Compilation of the units

The first unit was formed from six cars ( control car - motor car - sidecar - motor car - motor car - control car). The predominant composition of the electric train consists of eleven cars (control car - motor car - sidecar - motor car - sidecar - motor car - motor car - sidecar - sidecar - motor car - control car). The minimum number of cars used is four. A maximum of twelve cars can be used for one unit. A maximum of 14 trolleys can be used for two units.

history

At the beginning of 2011, the Torchok wagon factory was commissioned by the RŽD to develop a six-car unit. This first unit was built in April 2011. On May 6, 2011, this first unit was placed on the track ring of the All-Russian Research Institute for Rail Transport in Shcherbinka , and on May 11, 2011 the first test drive took place on the track ring of the VNIIZhT . The train successfully passed the preliminary control run of 5,000 km, at the beginning of July 2011 the train in a network of two sections ( control vehicle - motor vehicle - motor vehicle - control vehicle) went through the high-speed test on the relation Белореченская - Maikop , here dynamic tests and reviews were carried out the behavior carried out on the track.

In addition to the three-phase traction motors , the multiple unit differed from the ЭT2A in the design of the doors; they have leaning sliding doors with steps for low platforms . In addition, the front of the control car has been designed differently, it has been standardized with the ДТ1 . There are also differences due to the use of single-arm pantographs , the presence of air conditioning and wider vestibules. In the experimental unit, windows without flaps (block windows) were originally used.

On August 15, 2011, the VNIIZhT experts began to carry out the force-energy test, the shock and the dynamic durability test . In October 2011, the three-section unit ( control car - motor car - motor car - sidecar - motor car - control car) went through a test run on the Moskovskaya seleznaja doroga , on the Moscow - Tula - Kursk section .

From December 2011 to April 2012 the units were at the factory manufacturer , where completion work was carried out for the handover to the RŽD . As a result of all checks, the units received the certificate of the VNIIZhT for the safety standard on April 25, 2012 . A series of 30 vehicles was planned.

The unit ЭТ4A.001 received the Saint Petersburg Baltic Railway Station depot on May 22, 2012 for control operations. On June 8, 2012, the vehicle was presented to the public in the Saint Petersburg Baltic Railway Station depot , and on June 9, 2012, it carried out its first journey with passengers. In the Saint Petersburg Baltic Railway Station depot , the electric train was used for journeys on the Saint Petersburg - Luga route. He drove the trains with the numbers 7020/7021 and 7022/7023 . On August 28, 2012, the unit was to shcherbinka transferred to participate in the celebrations 175 years RŽD . The dynamic presentation was carried out on experimental tracks 7–9 in September of the same year. After completion, the vehicle was returned to the Saint Petersburg Baltic Railway Station depot , where it was used on the Saint Petersburg - Luga line.

In December 2013, was ЭТ4A.002 for the operation of the section Torzhok - Winokolui delivered. On the night of 30./31. December 2013 the vehicle was also given to the Saint Petersburg Baltic Railway Station depot . In 2014 the vehicles ЭТ4A.003 arrived at this depot . More electric trains were already being delivered.

delivery

The further financing of the project depends on the success of the first few years of operation. In April 2011, the RŽD and Siemens signed a contract for the delivery of a large number of ReiheС1 vehicles . The delivery of a series of 30 vehicles of the ЭТ4A (ET4A) is planned.
