Radekow is a district of the municipality of Mescherin in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is eight kilometers northwest of Mescherin and eight kilometers east of Penkun . In the north and west, the boundaries of the Radekow district also form the state border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The nature reserve Black Tangier is located in the northwestern part of the district . The neighboring towns are Nadrensee in the north, Rosow in the northeast, Krähenort in the east, Vorwerk Radekow in the southeast, Tantow Vorwerk in the south, Damitzow in the southwest, Büssow in the west and Storkow in the northwest.

history

Radekow was an independent municipality until the end of 1924. On January 1, 1925, it merged with neighboring Tantow to form a new municipality of Tantow. From January 1, 1945, Radekow was independent again after being separated from the municipality of Tantow and became part of the re-established district of Randow . After its dissolution, it became part of the Angermünde district on July 1, 1950 . On December 31, 2002, the municipality of Radekow was dissolved and, like Mescherin, Neurochlitz and Rosow, a district of the newly formed municipality of Mescherin.

Buildings

The manor complex with manor house and manor park located in the north of the village is a listed building. The same applies to the Radekow village church, which was built in the second half of the 13th century .

traffic

District road 7311 runs through the town in a north-south direction . Nadrensee and Rosow can be reached via these in a northerly direction. In the opposite direction it leads to Tantow . The Berlin – Szczecin railway line , which is 150 meters east of the town , also runs through the Radekow district . The nearby Rosow train station has long been out of service.
