Radio Bob ( spelling RADIO BOB! Germany's Rockradio ) is a private Regiocast radio station in Hesse , which has been broadcasting from Kassel since August 5, 2008 and can be received in Hesse on 24 VHF frequencies. RADIO BOB! is the successor program to SkyRadio Hessen. The restart was initiated after the Regiocast group from Kiel joined SkyRadio Hessen as a partner.

RADIO BOB! is 100 percent owned by the radio holding Regiocast.

Since August 2011, the program has been broadcast nationwide digitally in the DAB + standard .

On May 2, 2016, the station got a sister program in Schleswig-Holstein, which replaced Radio NORA there . Parts of the Hessian program had already been produced in Kiel beforehand, e.g. B. the morning programs, and supplemented by regional advertising.

Music and target audience

According to the broadcaster, the music format is a rock-oriented adult program ( AC ) aimed at the core target group of people aged 30 and over ("over 30s"). The main performers are the major rock groups of the 1970s and 80s such as AC / DC , Rolling Stones , The Who , Led Zeppelin , to whom current artists such as Snow Patrol and Sunrise Avenue are added. The first track played when it started broadcasting was Hells Bells by AC / DC. The chime of the track followed by a song from the group AC / DC is played every day at 12 or midnight. Several musical contributions are broadcast daily.

Program content

Parts of the Bob program are automated; as a rule, recorded presentations are sent from 6 p.m. and on weekends. From 8 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and Sundays, the American rock musician Alice Cooper will put on his Alice Cooper Show for an hour . On Wednesdays from 9 p.m. Edguy front man and Avantasia founder Tobias Sammet will present a 3-hour program. In addition, artists such as The BossHoss , Fury in the Slaughterhouse and the Emil Bulls have their own programs in the program.

The messages are sent hourly - in the morning also every half hour - and z. Partly supplied by Regiocast . There is no traffic radio in the evenings and at night. The program broadcast nationally via DAB + also does not contain any traffic reports.

Listener participation and games

The listeners are integrated into the current program via the homepage and their own myBOB app and have the opportunity to help shape the station's music. There are also various competitions where questions about pop and rock are asked.
