Holosiyiv Raion is located in the southwest of the city for the most part on the right bank of the Dnieper , with the exception of some river islands such as Vodnykiv and Cossack Islands , and was established in 2001. The Rajon has 254,651 inhabitants (2020) and an area of about 156 km². The population density in the Rajon is 1583 inhabitants per km².
