Ralf Kuchler

Ralf Kuchler (born November 7, 1969 ) is a flotilla admiral in the German Navy and has been the commander of the Flotilla 2 in Wilhelmshaven since June 29, 2018 .

Military career

Training and first uses

Kuchler joined the Bundeswehr with Crew VI / 89 and completed his training as a naval officer on the SSS Gorch Fock and during a fleet internship in the submarine flotilla . He then studied economics and industrial engineering at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg from 1990 to 1995 . After completing his studies, Kuchler was deployed as a second navigation officer on the destroyer Rommel for half a year before he attended the officer training course at the Mürwik naval school from 1995 to 1996 . From 1996 to 1998 he was used again on the destroyer Rommel , this time as an anti-submarine and artillery officer . On June 29, 2018, Kuchler, succeeding Flotilla Admiral Christoph Müller-Meinhard , became the commander of the Flotilla 2 in Wilhelmshaven . In this post he was also appointed Flotilla Admiral in March 2019.
