Coat of arms of those of Ramin

Ramin is the name of a Pomeranian nobility family with the same-named parent company Ramin between Löcknitz and Grambow . It was considered a noble and castle-sitting family in Western Pomerania . Branches of the family still exist today.

history

There are different details about the first documented appearance of the sex. A source says that a certain Unon of Ramin appears in a document from 1188. Another source names April 15, 1280 with Otto de Rambyn (on his seal: de Monte) as the date of the first documentary appearance . The trunk series begins with Otto von Ramin , who is documented on Zernikow in 1375 .

Since 1577 under Philip I (Pomerania) , the Ramin were inheritance gifts from Pomerania. In addition to Ramin, the family had other fiefs and estates such as Kyritz , Lebehn and, since 1544, Stolzenburg near Stettin . In 1449 they were able to acquire the small town of Brüssow with accessories in the Uckermark , which at that time belonged to Pomerania. They also maintained this possession in the Brandenburg period until 1725.

coat of arms

The coat of arms shows a red climbing hook with three golden cross rungs in the silver field of the shield . On the helmet over red and silver blankets the crown of leaves or a red and silver helmet bulge , above two fan-like set red climbing hooks.

The coat of arms with the red ladder is identical to that of Bredow . According to Kneschke, there is also a tribal relationship between the two sexes.
