Ramon Pramad Junior Tikaram (born May 16, 1967 in Singapore ) is a British actor of Fijian - Malaysian descent.

life and career

Ramon Tikaram was born as the son of the British Army soldier Pramad Tikaram, who belonged to the Indian minority of Fiji, and the Malaysian Fatimah Rohani in Singapore. His sister, two years younger than him, is the singer Tanita Tikaram . The family later moved to Münster in Westphalia , where the father was stationed as part of his army work and which is also the birthplace of his sister. Tikaram attended a total of six primary schools in Germany and England , where the family settled in Basingstoke in 1981 .

As early as 1978 Tikaram was sent to the Duke of York's Royal Military School in Dover , before he was later accepted at the University of Kent in Canterbury and joined the National Youth Theater in London .

In 1995 he took on his first acting role. In The Pirate Bride, he played the role of a pirate. This was followed by a supporting role in the film Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love .
