The Raneburgkogel ( 2925 m above sea level ), also Raneburger Spitze , Ranewakögele , Raneburgspitz or Raneburger , is a mountain peak in the Gschlößkamm of the Venediger group in the north of East Tyrol (municipality of Matrei in East Tyrol ).
Location and promotion opportunities
The Raneburgkogel lies in the southeast of the Gschlößkamm between the Hinteren Michlbachspitze ( 2905 m above sea level ) in the east, the Katálspitze ( 2832 m above sea level ) in the south and the Ohrkogel ( 2680 m above sea level ) in the east. The Raneburgkogel is separated from the Hintere Michlbachspitze by the Michlbachscharte ( 2750 m above sea level ) while the transitions to the Katálspitze and Ohrkogel run gently. separated by the Dabernitzturmscharte ( 2874 m above sea level ), which is only a little to the north , to the east the Michlbachscharte ( 2750 m above sea level ) marks the transition to the Raneburgkogel. The south ridge to the Vorderen Michlbachspitze, on the other hand, runs relatively flat downhill. The Dabernitzkees is located northwest of the Raneburgkogel between Dabernitzkogel and Raneburgkogel .
The Raneburgkogel has been sought out by locals from Lake Raneburg over the south-eastern slopes since around 1800; a shorter route exists via the Frosnitz Valley. The normal ascent takes place from the Gruben fraction along the forest road into the Frosnitz Valley to the Untere Katalalm . After that, the ascent follows the Michlbach largely without a path to the so-called Michlbachlacken ( 2506 m above sea level ) or ( 2526 m above sea level ) and then over the rugged southwest flank to the summit. The south-east ascent starts in the hamlet of Berg , with the hiking trail leading north-west to the Raneburger Alm and on to the Raneburger See , before climbing along the lake tributary into the Hochkar between the Ohrkogel, Raneburgkogel and Katalspitze and further northwest on the Raneburgkogel.
