Attractions
One of the attractions of Raschala is the Kellergasse , which is typical of the Weinviertel . At the “Kellerplatzl” there is also the “ Pinkelstein ”, where, according to legend, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart stopped on a trip to Prague to do a business. His statement that he wanted to be "quickly ala (alone)" is also a humorous explanation for the place name.
From the Glockenberg, renovated in 2010, you have a wide view of Raschala and Hollabrunn.
Events
In addition to the "Pinkelsteinfest" , which takes place every leap year on Mardi Gras Sunday, three regular annual events take place in Raschala, which attract numerous visitors:
- At the end of May or beginning of June the "May Festival at Gänsplatzl"
- At the end of June or beginning of July the "Ringelrein am Pinkelstein"
- on the 1st of Advent the "Advent Market", a supraregional art market
In 2011 the May Festival took place on just one day over three days. On Friday evening there was a wine tasting, on Saturday the usual program with the felling of the tree and dance music took place and on Sunday warm food and drinks were served with marching music until the afternoon.
Facilities
Raschala has a wine tavern (Buschenschank Satzinger), a village house, which is located on the central Gänsplatzl, a youth home (chamber), which is set up in the former fire station of the Raschala volunteer fire department , and a chapel. This former fire station was renovated in 2009 and a rentable event room was set up. The exhibition "801 Years of Raschala" also took place there.
The two village associations in Raschala, the Raschalaer Köllamauna ("cellar men") and the village renewal association (DoERN), are an important part of the organization of the events and the redesign of the place.
Village messenger
Raschala has also had its own village paper since 2000, which is published quarterly, once a quarter .
The village messenger is a once folded A4 sheet (4 printed A5 pages) in which local news about the village are noted. Mostly past festivals are reported and upcoming ones are announced.
The publisher is the Dorferneuerungsverein (DoERN), the editor is Curd Ebner (actually Konrad Ebner; or Kurt Ebner or Curt Ebner), who also takes almost all of the photos for the village messenger. This has earned him the joking title of “Raschala Paparazzi ” among the villagers .
