The Rastkogelhütte is an Alpine Club hut of the Oberkochen section of the German Alpine Club .

location

The Rastkogelhütte is located at an altitude of 2117  m above sea level. A. just below the Sidanjoch ( 2127  m ) in the Tux Alps west of Mayrhofen in the Zillertal .

history

The hut was built in 1930 by the Werdau (now Plauen section) and Sachsen-Altenburg (now Altenburg section) sections.

In November 1953 the Rastkogelhütte burned down to the foundation walls and was rebuilt in 1954/55.

ways

Approaches

  • From Hochfügen ( 1500  m ) in the north over the Sidanjoch in a walking time of 2½ hours.
  • From the bend of the Hippacher Höhenstraße ( 1900  m ) in a walking time of one hour.
  • From the Möslwirt on the Hippacher Höhenstraße ( 1500  m ) in a walking time of 2½ hours.

Mountaineering

  • Rastkogel , ( 2762  m ), walking time 2 hours
  • Roßkopf , ( 2576  m ), walking time 1 hour
  • Kleiner Gilfert , ( 2388  m ), walking time 2 hours
  • Marchkopf , ( 2499  m ), walking time 1½ hours
  • Kraxentrager , ( 2423  m ), walking time 1 hour
  • Kreuzjoch , ( 2290  m ), walking time 1 hour
  • Arbiskopf, ( 2133  m ), walking time 1½ hours

All peaks can also be climbed on skis in winter.

Transitions to other huts

The next huts are the Kellerjochhütte ( 2237  m , around 3½ hours) over the Loassattel and the Weidener Hut ( 1799  m , around 5 hours). The Adlerweg , Via Alpina (red) and Zentralalpenweg 02A lead past the hut .
