Ratnanagar is a city (municipality) in the Chitwan District in the central Terai of Nepal , 10 km southeast of Bharatpur and 5 km north of the Chitwan National Park .

The Mahendra Rajmarg trunk road , the most important east-west road link in Nepal, runs through the city. As part of the community reform in 2014, the Village Development Committees Bachhayauli and Pithuwa were incorporated into the city. The urban area covers 68.6 km².

At the 2011 census, the city of Ratnanagar (including Bachhayauli and Pithuwa) had 69,851 inhabitants (of which 33,256 male) in 16,070 households.
