Rawda (also Ravda , Bulgarian Равда ) is a village in Bulgaria in the municipality of Nessebar , in the province of Burgas . Ravda is located on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast .
location
Rawda is located in the northern part of the Burgas Plain , in the Gulf of Burgas . In the north the village borders on the community center Nessebar and on the largest tourist place in Bulgaria - Sunny Beach . Rawda is located around 20 km north of Burgas Airport .
history
Rawda was founded in 1924 by Bulgarian refugees from what is now northern Greece (→ Macedonian Bulgarians ). They came mainly from the Macedonian places Athyra and Koufalia near Thessaloniki , but some families from Mikro Monastiri , Paralimni , Kastaneri , Rachona , Krya Vrysi , Galatades and Axos .
During the socialist era , Ravda was known for its summer camps . Many new hotels and resorts have sprung up since the country was democratized in the early 1990s. The place has been namesake for Ravda Peak on Livingston Island in Antarctica since around 2005 .

Ravda is connected to the Nesebar municipality's public transport network, and buses run between Ravda and Nessebar every 20 minutes and between Ravda and Burgas every 30 minutes. There is also the possibility of taking water taxis to the places in the Bay of Burgas.
