Van Acker I government

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Van Acker I government was the government of Belgium from February 12, 1945 to August 2, 1945. It was a so-called government of national unity. Represented in the government were the Catholic Party , the BSP / PSB , the Liberal Party of Belgium and the KPB / PCB (Communists). In contrast to Pierlot's government in exile , it was the first government after the Second World War , which consisted mainly of people who had spent the occupation period in Belgium. Only Paul-Henri Spaak had stayed in London during the war.

The government succeeded the Pierlot VI government and was replaced by the Van Acker II government.

The government consisted of 18 ministers, with the Katholieke Partij holding the most posts with 6 ministers. Four offices each went to the BSP / PSB and the Liberal Party , and two ministries to the Communists of the KPB / PCB .
