Van Acker IV Government

The Van Acker IV government was in office in Belgium from April 23, 1954 to June 2, 1958. In the legislative period from 1950 to 1954, Christian Democratic ( PSC / CVP ) governments ruled with an absolute majority. In the parliamentary elections in 1954 , the Christian Democrats lost their absolute majority. Achille Van Acker became Prime Minister of a coalition of socialists and liberals . After the general election in 1958 , in which both the socialists and the liberals lost seats, Gaston Eyskens formed a Christian Democratic minority government.
